Dear Readers,
It’s approaching mid-semester, and spring is around the corner! Now is the time to embrace a refresh and “spring cleaning” of your physical and mental spaces. Set up to recharge and finish the semester strong. Re-evaluate Your Systems and Habits You have enough momentum now to see what has and has not worked out for you. Is your planner a good fit for your organization style? Have you found apps that could be helpful to your workload? What habits have you been able to stick to, and which could use a boost? Give yourself credit for what has worked for you so far! There is still time to celebrate the progress and improve your weak points. Is this time of the semester feeling intense and overwhelming? You still have to get things done and meet deadlines, but try different ways to switch it up and find new sources of motivation. Pick a study buddy to do work together. Go to a cool coffee shop for a treat and a vibe to be productive. If the weather is nice, take your work outside. Make sure you’re taking care of yourself physically, and with small adjustments like these, your mind will get the refresh to get through and get done. Workspaces Take a look at your physical living and workspaces. Apply the term “spring cleaning” for another refresh. Catch up on cleaning, get rid of things you don’t need, upgrade your workspace, and make sure you have a comfortable vibe in your place of rest. Add some fresh flowers, candles, and anything that brings you joy! You are a product of your environment, so tend to it attentively and with intention. Switching things up this way and having a clean space allows for a clear mind ready to take on the tasks and enjoy the environment around you all the time. Don't Forget Your Health Make sure you are feeding and “cleaning” your mind and body in healthy ways too. Try a gratitude journal like the “Five Minute Journal” to set positive intentions in your day and set off good chemicals in your brain. Pick a good app with short meditations. Take walks outside, hit the gym, or find a short hike in nature; any of these and more are great ways to take a quick pause and refresh. Drink water! Treat yourself to your favorite feel-good snacks, but also get i4n some clean foods to supply your body with more energy and motivation. Happy Spring Cleaning! ~ Isabel Serrano
